Happy Friday ya’ll!
It’s been a LONGGG cold week, and I am super happy to see the sun shining, and weather trying to get it into Spring gear today! Let’s hope it sticks. Today I wanted to talk about engagement sessions. Everyone get’s super nervous before their shoot, and I want that nervousness to be a thing of the past. So here are a few tips, to make it your BEST SHOOT EVERRRR
1. Get that Bling CLEANED.
One of the main forces of our shoot, is that gorgeous ring that took months to pick out! So make sure that baby is looking brand new for the day of your shoot! Most jewelers do it for free, as long as you got your ring there!
2. Bring the fur babies ( if you have them )
You already love them, the currently complete your family.. and they are usually the perfect prop. As long as you bring someone to help wrangle them ( and some treats ) Pups are the perfect addition to your engagement session.
3. Style Guide Baby!
If you didnt know, I offer a style guide to help you plan out what is going to make you look your best for picture day! ( Pictures to the guide coming soon ) Use it as an excuse to take a long romantic walk down the isles of Target or Dry Goods, and get something that screams YOU for your shoot! And feel free to tell your Fiance that is is all my fault you needed that new pair of shoes… You’re Welcome
4. Props
What makes you two… you two? Do you like Wine? ( I do ) What about coffee? ( We all Know, I do ) Bring some cups to your shoot! Bring a blanket and some books if you like to read. Love hockey? Let’s go to the rink! Love to eat Jimmy Johns? You better believe I will capture the moments there, and I have with a previous Sunflower Couple with an adorable cat named sally… Sally did not come to Jimmy Johns with us sadly..
5. LAUGH!
That’s right, laughing during your shoot is THE BEST way to capture your love! Don’t worry I will be a crazy person and bring it out. Even if that means you are laughing AT me instead of with me.. I understand. My mom joke game is strong.. along with my wide range of movie quotes from the 80’s
So there you have it! My top five of the week!
Make it a great weekend!
